Aug 26, 2020 Amazingly, various fruits and foods such as orange, apple, and even sausage are electrical conductors as well. In the following demo, you can observe how a prototype reacts to the touch of different fruits being placed directly on the smartphone touchscreen. A prototype made with ProtoPie utilizing 3D touch. Total Protopie – Learn Advanced Prototyping Without Code with Darren Bennett — SkillShare — Free download Hi, my name is Darren and I’m passionate about prototyping. ProtoPie is my tool of choice when it comes to prototyping and I’ve been using and teaching ProtoPie to designers within many organisations including NatWest, Sainsbury. ProtoPie ProtoPie is the easiest tool used to turn your UI/UX design ideas into highly interactive prototypes for mobile, desktop, web, all the way to IoT. Designers can explore, validate, and test design solutions and ideas by creating very realistic, production-like prototypes without code and the help of engineers.
- @AO To: its very important to have the use of 3D and Apis for every project. If they dont have time to develop make api plugins possible so other companies can spend time to make plugins for protopie user can use.
- Blender Cinema 4D. Spark AR Lens Studio Unity 3D Vuforia. Motion Graphics. After Effects Framer. I recently graduated with my Masters in Human Computer Interaction from IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana. I want to see a future where interaction with technology is a natural extension to our way of life.

Auto Animate is the main Feature I miss from working with Principle and Flinto.

Any updates on this? Pretty please 🥺, we really need it :(

Auto Animate feature from Principle is terrible because it forces you to go through each single layer's name to make sure that there's no duplicates causing 'flying objects'.
If auto animation is implemented I hope at least there's a way to switch it off, because the auto animation from Principle was driving me crazy.

@Jose Antonio Orellana: ProtoPie doesn’t work by transitioning between frames ( or art boards) so it likely wouldn’t work that way. A more controlled approach would be a state toggle button that allows you to move, scale and rotate any layer until deactivating the state button. Doing so would add those transitions wrapped in a trigger function. That’s how I imagined it working at least.

This is maybe the number one thing that needs to happen! Doing even simple interactions in ProtoPie can take hours instead of minutes!

I would really want to underline the importance of Auto-animate. I had 6 screens for whichI wanted to add interactions to in Protopie. It took me 30 mins to do it, when I decided to return to XD and just do it there in 15 seconds.
I love Protopie for its ease of use in complex interactions, but sometimes is just overkill doing simple interaction.
It's known that buttons have 3 main states, why do I have to define 6 interactions for that?

Just simply take the PowerPoint morph idea and import it to ProtoPie.

Introduce a new transition that would animate objects common to both the scenes. This is called Magic move in Keynote and is present in almost all of the prototyping tools.
Android Studio has support for this and calls it 'Shared Transition'.
This would make a world of difference in simplifying prototypes.

Definitely need this. Throughout all the agency work I've done, most of the wireframing and early user testing is static, but getting into higher fidelity, testing interaction and usability (which is also part of the iterative process with the client), most of the screens are already designed so importing them into a prototyping tool that auto-animates the properties of the same object between two screens would be essential. Even if this were added, I would still surely use the existing features regularly for other micro-interactions. Hoping you guys can consider this. Thank you.

ProtoPie is way ahead of Auto-Animate, that's why I love it that much

This is the one big feature that makes principal and framer much easier to use.

Same here, I'm on the verge of having to drop ProtoPie as even XD (even Keynote!!) can do that. Auto-animating shapes is something I use all the time in UI design...Please, @ProtoPie

This could be achieved if ProtoPie would support videos with alpha masks. Handling 3D objects in a professional way isn't a simple task. There are countless things to consider. It would be more efficient if ProtoPie gives us more control over files and supports videos with alpha masks (e.g. .mov). Then you can render the video straight from your 3D engine or After Effects, import it in ProtoPie, and can e.g. create a 'chain trigger' between a drag event and the video timeline. I like WebGL but you will see there are many websites that fake their usage of 3D with videos or png sequences because the rendered quality from Octane & Co. is much better. Even Apple does that.

+1. I would love to prototype AR apps with Protopie. Importing 3D models is definetly the first step for that.

@Thomas Herbreteau: you can do AR prototyping by just making regular 'flat' objects and a background, and tying them to the tilt sensor so they scroll when the phone is moved. I made a very credible 'magic window' AR mockup this way. Now, you can do a Camera layer, so you can pretty much duplicate AR. VR is harder, but if you just scroll all your objects along with the backgroun, it works. The big advantage (relative to some VR plugins for xD) is that you can make the objects 'clickable' or 'touch-able.'

@Pete Markiewicz: do you know if you tie images such as a qr code to the camera so that the camera detects the qr code or theres a layer snapped to the camera img detected?

@Kathleen Nguyendon: You'd need a connection to a 3nd-party API for that to work. You need to extensively process images for recognition, and so far as I know, that code isn't in PP.
